rocking chair build process - glue clamp arm

Glue and clamping arms

After sanding and sanding we have to put the arm into position and " fix " the joint where the arm meets the leg. Fixing the joint means we have to make a perfect glue line, which is done by pulling a piece of sandpaper through the joint many times until it's perfect. On a custom wooden rocking chair all joints are visible in fact every part of the chair is exposed so every detail has to be just right, but we would't have it any other way.

We will never be accused of not having enough clamping pressure!
