Learn to make an Epoxy River Table
Dates: October 24th & October 31st
Time: 9:00am to 12:00pm or 1:30pm to 4:30pm
Skill Level: Beginner
Join us to build your very own river table (up to 23'' x 47''). You will leave the class with a completed table with wood legs!
Students are welcome to participate with a partner.
Day 1 - You will start the class by selecting your wood, we will discuss all the details about epoxy and form options. We will prepare the wood for the pour. Once we mix the epoxy you select and refine your colour, then comes the fun part.....Pouring! Our projects will be left to cure until the second day of the class.
We will also be working on the legs in Day 1, our material will be prepped ready for sanding the glue up. During this process you'll learn about joinery, glues and finally clamping up your legs.
Day 2 - Students will return to their tables removed from their mold, flattened and cut to size. What is needed is to hand sand the table top and apply an edge treatment, Chamfer or Round over? Once fully sanded it's time to apply the finish.
We will also be finishing the legs and mounting using threaded inserts and bolts.
All tools and materials will be provided, including: 10.5L Epoxy Kit ($295.99), 100mL Rubio Monocoat Pure ($29.95), a pail, and the lumber.
In the class you will be using a router, palm sander, and a drill.
All skill levels are welcome, but this class will move at a pace for a beginner making their first epoxy table.
